‘Tis the season for predictions! As 2018 is drawing to a close, there has been a lot of discussion around what 2019 and beyond holds for technology. SPHERE‘s Director of Product, Rosario Mastrogiacomo, took part in a 2019 Technology Forecast panel discussion. Accompanying Rosario was William Rodgers, Chief Economist at Rutgers University, Cathy C. Smith, CEO at Chameleon Consulting, and Dusten Splan, Data Center Architect at Juniper Networks. Hosted by New Jersey Tech Council, the evening consisted of the four technology experts sharing their thoughts and predictions for 2019 followed by a networking session with food and beverages.

Discussions ranged from customer-driven data to the biggest breaches of 2018, to the million dollar question “Will robots replace humans?” Rosario talked specifically on the evolution of technology and the concept of digital twins. “Something I find fascinating is the concept of digital twins,” Rosario said, “but what about the concept of having a human digital twin for your customers? So, based on their activity, their buying pattern, geolocation, etc. you’re able to create a visual representation of that customer and you’re able to predict what that customer wants/needs, and then send it to them. You can predict your sales based on your digital twins in your data center.” With that being said, we are excited to see what 2019 has in store!
