The Implementation Engineer reports to the Customer Success Manager.

Position Summary

As an Implementation Engineer at Sphere Technology Solutions you will be responsible for the installation, configuration and customization of SPHERE’s proprietary software platform, SPHEREboard. As the lead technical resource you will be working closely with the Project Manager and the client in the design and integration of the SPHEREboard product within the client’s environment. As the product subject matter expert you will be providing in-depth knowledge in the use of the product, as well as assisting the client in the remediation and escalation of issues as needed.

Primary Responsibilities: 

Advocate

  • Install, upgrade and maintain SPHEREboard based product solutions for clients 
  • Submit, manage, and escalate support tickets from clients 
  • Participate in UAT testing for all new releases and development tickets 

Innovate

  • Recommend on the behalf of, track and prioritize client feature requests 
  • Identify and assist customers with leveraging product value  
  • Testing interconnectivity with third-party partner products, developing, installing and maintaining components such as new ‘connectors’ and ‘workers’  

Create

  • Ensure all in house production versions of SPHEREboard are demo ready 
  • Simulate customer requirements in virtual lab environments, producing Demos and Proof of Concepts
  • Work with development teams on new features and enhancements 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to write and understand SQL scripts
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of folder and share permissions (CIFS and NFS)
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Active Directory, and file sharesFamiliarity with database fundamentals and transactSQL
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze and remediate integration issues
  • Active listening and communication skills
  • Ability to convey complex issues in a relatable manner to clients
  • Exceptional oral and written skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, including Mailbox and Public Folders
  • Ability to write scripts in some administrative languages, e.g. VBScript or Powershell
  • Familiarization with ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel
  • Technical writing

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, preferred
  • Experience in a related technical field

Preferred Experience :

  • 1-2 years in supporting customer environments
  • 1-2 years in Implementing, integrating and supporting enterprise applications
